Suntree single phase ATS 100Amps 4Pole - Automatic Transfer Switch
An automatic transfer switch (ATS) is a device that automatically switches a power source from one supply to another in the event that the primary source fails or is disrupted. It is commonly used in backup power systems for critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centers, and other facilities where a continuous power supply is essential.
The ATS has two or more inputs, one for the primary power source and one or more for backup sources such as a generator. When the primary source is functioning normally, the ATS will keep it connected to the load. However, if the primary source fails or experiences a disruption, the ATS will automatically switch to the backup source to ensure a continuous power supply. This switching process is usually seamless, with no interruption in power to the load.
In some cases, the ATS may also be used to switch between different primary power sources, such as switching between a utility grid and a renewable energy source like solar or wind power.
ATS systems are designed to be highly reliable and are often used in mission-critical applications where even a brief power outage could have serious consequences. They are also used in residential and commercial settings to provide backup power in the event of a power outage.
When the main power supply is normal, using the automatic model, the circuit breaker of reserve power supply is off, the circuit breaker of main power supply is on. When one phase or all three phase of the main power supply is off, the ATS will convert to the reserve power supply(the reserve power is normal),when the main power is normal, the reserve power will recover back to main power again.
